At least 18 people were killed during a clash between two groups and a fire broke out inside a nightclub in Surog town, West Papua province in Indonesia.
"A clash erupted last night between two groups in the nightclub and resulted in a fire on the first floor, causing this number of casualties," Sorong Police Chief Ari Nyuto Setiawan said in a statement. "We tried to evacuate as many people as possible, but after the firefighters put out This morning we found some bodies there.”
In turn, officials indicated that one victim was stabbed in the clash, while 17 others died in the fire.
The Indonesian police are investigating the cause of the fire.
