The victim was in cardiorespiratory arrest when firefighters arrived.
Another individual, hit by a bullet in the head, was transferred to the Martinique University Hospital in serious condition, according to firefighters.
A "settlement of accounts"
The facts occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Boulevard du General de Gaulle, the main axis of the city center.
The two victims were traveling in a small white car when they were shot at, said the judicial source.
