At the end of December, it was Osem, the first of the major food companies, to announce a rise in prices.
The company then announced that it would raise prices of hundreds of products by 3-7% and an average of 4.6% in February.
These products include snacks, cereals, pastas, coffee and more.
The price increase will not include the baby milk substitutes of the Materna brand.
Massem said at the time that raw material prices, packaging and transportation costs had skyrocketed by tens to hundreds of percent in a manner never seen before.
Unfortunately, the trend continues and its consequences add up to unprecedented costs, even after deducting the effect of exchange rates.
After taking every possible move and absorbing the price increases over a long period of time, we are forced to make an update that only partially compensates for the price increases of the inputs.
The price list of Materna products will remain unchanged.
This decision provoked much criticism among the public.
