Bad Tölz – For more than 30 years, parking violations have been punished with their own staff in Bad Tölz.

The city is now giving up its traffic monitoring and transferring it to the "Zweckverband Kommunales Dienstzentrum Oberland".

The decision to transfer future park monitoring to the municipal “Zweckverband Oberland” based in Bad Tölz was made unanimously by the city council.

The special-purpose association, whose chairman is the mayor of Tölz, Ingo Mehner, has been monitoring the flow of traffic for a long time and is already conducting administrative offense proceedings for the city, for example when there are complaints about a traffic ticket.

In the decisive city council meeting, the head of the public order and building office, Christian Fürstberger, never tired of describing the advantages of this measure.

By transferring tasks to the special-purpose association, traffic monitoring will be completely in one hand in the future.

The corresponding know-how is also bundled there.

City of Bad Tölz saves 12,000 euros

The city can thus reduce its own staff or use them elsewhere, Fürstberger said.

This should be seen in particular against the background that it is currently difficult to find qualified employees in the administrative area.

The transfer of competence is also advisable because replacement purchases for mobile data collection devices are due in 2022.

This saves the city 12,000 euros.

In the future, they also want to tackle the problem of cyclists in the Marktstraße pedestrian zone, better monitoring of cleanliness in the city, for example at the glass containers, the leashing of dogs, the control of beggars and compliance with the obligation to clear.

In the past, such tasks would have been transferred to the special-purpose association, which, however, only takes on this task if it is also allowed to monitor "stationary traffic".

In terms of costs, said Fürstberger, it was “about the same”.

Former employees of the Securitas company will not become unemployed

The company Securitas, which is responsible for the staff working in Bad Tölz, is now to be terminated by the end of March 2022.

Karsten Bauer (CSU) wanted to know what was happening with the previous employees and asked whether the new park supervisors were familiar with the area: "That's important." Mayor Ingo Mehner sees no problem with the staff.

"Securitas" will not terminate the employees, said the mayor, but will use them elsewhere.

But the association is also happy if it can get trained staff.

In his opinion, the employees even have the advantage that they can choose between two employers.

However, one area of parking surveillance remains the responsibility of the city – that of the parking machines.

Fürstberger explained that the elimination of disruptions, the changing of ticket rolls and the elimination of coin jams had to be done locally.
