Baden-Württemberg also wants to relax the corona rules for sports and cultural events, but not as much as Bavaria.

Unlike the Free State, the green-black state government does not want to allow games with up to 10,000 spectators in the Bundesliga, said Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) on Tuesday in Stuttgart.

"We will certainly stay well below the numbers."

Stuttgart - On the other hand, there must be a certain opening, otherwise there will be "gigantic debates" about differences in the Corona rules between the countries.

The Green politician announced that the country would take “a middle path” in the new Corona regulation.

With the permission for major events, the two southern countries go beyond the joint federal-state decision on Monday evening.

"One has to regret very much that yesterday it was not possible to find a nationwide regulation for events," said Kretschmann.

There should be further talks on February 9th.

But until then, the countries would first have to regulate it themselves.

In the previously applicable alarm level II in the southwest, 50 percent of the maximum capacity can be used for events - but a maximum of 500 visitors can come.

And the rule applies that only vaccinated and recovered people with a test (2G plus) have access.

After a court ruling, the country must now reinstate the regular tier system.

This means that the normal alert level applies in the future.

This actually envisages an occupancy rate of up to 50 percent for events and a maximum of 25,000 visitors.

Kretschmann again announced that he wanted to adjust these rules within the individual stages.

The rapid spread of the omicron variant makes this necessary.
