A BOB stopped just before Holzkirchen.

Since the damage could not be repaired, the train had to be evacuated.

Passengers report chaotic conditions.

Holzkirchen – Travelers with the Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB) had to bring a lot of patience with them on Tuesday afternoon (January 25).

The train came to a standstill in front of Holzkirchen (Miesbach district) due to a technical defect.

The passengers had to wait almost an hour before they could continue - but then on foot, because the train had to be evacuated.

When asked, Annette Luckner, spokeswoman for the BOB, said that the employees were unable to repair the damage to the train.

"The staff did everything to keep it going," said Luckner.

However, what failed.

For more than half an hour, the passengers were left in the dark as to what would happen next.

After about an hour of waiting, the train crew finally initiated the evacuation.

Since the technical defect could not be remedied, the 50 or so travelers had no choice but to get out and walk across the tracks to the platform.

Technical defect: BOB train is being evacuated - reason unknown so far

To ensure the safety of the stranded passengers, the Holzkirchner train station was completely closed.

As the spokeswoman for the BOB, Annette Luckner, said when asked, the full closure ended around 3:30 p.m.

However, there could still be restrictions on rail operations.

The damage to the track could not be repaired, so the so-called "broken down" had to be towed away.

So far, the reason for the failure could not be found.

The vehicle is now parked, says Luckner.

It must now be examined exactly how the standstill could have come about.

In the past, the BOB had to be evacuated more than once.

Between Holzkirchen and Sauerlach, the train came to a standstill for more than two hours.

For the passengers, it was also exhausting for another reason.
