Murnau - The nationwide day of action for cliché-free career orientation for girls and boys will take place for the first time on April 28, 2022 in the BG Unfallklinik Murnau.

The successful and world's largest project for careers orientation for students from the 5th grade is intended to help improve the career opportunities of girls and boys in promising fields of activity in which they have been underrepresented so far.

Girls' Day

Young women in Germany have a particularly good school education. Despite this, girls rarely opt for a scientific or technical education. As a result, they do not make full use of their career opportunities and there is a lack of qualified young people on the job market, especially in technical and technology-related areas.

The "Girls'Day - Girls' Future Day" is intended to help expand opportunities for girls, particularly in (information) technology and natural sciences as well as in manual trades.

In this way, their job, career and earning opportunities should be improved in the long term.

Since the start of the campaign in 2001, around 1.9 million girls worldwide have taken part.

At Girls'Day in the BG Unfallklinik Murnau, eight schoolgirls can expect a one-day taster day with various workshops and guided tours through the preclinical departments of the renowned trauma center.

You will learn what tasks an emergency paramedic has in her everyday work.

They can also take part in practical workshops and learn how to deal with injured patients.

Boys' Day

Boys and young men have diverse interests and strengths.

But when it comes to choosing a career, they often opt for jobs such as car mechatronics technicians or industrial mechanics – jobs that are traditionally often chosen by men.

The "Boys' Day - Boys' Future Day" project gives boys the opportunity to get to know professions in which men are still underrepresented.

This applies above all to professions in the social, educational and nursing sectors.

On the boy-specific introductory day at the BG Unfallklinik Murnau, eight schoolchildren receive a targeted insight into the professional field of nursing specialists and can gain initial insights and practical experience in emergency training on the wards of the center for spinal cord injuries, neurology and trauma surgery.

The framework program is designed by the trainees in their 3rd year of training at the clinic's own vocational school in cooperation with the departments involved.

You can answer the students' questions personally and initial contacts can be made.

Registration is online via the “Radar” menu item on the websites www.boys-day.de and www.girls-day.de.
