Legislative Council member Tian Beichen submitted an oral question, an urgent question, and a member's motion to question the government about the incident, but the urgent question was rejected.
Tian Beichen was very dissatisfied with the government's delay in explaining the incident to the public. He also pointed out that people would be arrested every once in a while, and suggested that Tong Leju staff should be suspended first for investigation, and then reinstated after the incident was investigated.

Disappointed that the government did not respond
Tian Beichen pointed out that he is concerned about child abuse incidents. Last year, he asked the government to legislate for a "mandatory reporting mechanism for child abuse".
In addition to submitting questions, Tian Beichen also suggested in the Welfare Committee to set up a special meeting to discuss the incident.
It has been a month since the child abuse case at Tongleju occurred. Tian Beichen said that the most disappointing thing is that the government has not responded, but sent someone to monitor the staff at Tongleju.
He believes this is a negative approach, pointing out that the law enforcement agencies review CCTV videos every day, and after a while they find more employees involved. ?"
He suggested that the government ask all Tongleju employees to suspend their jobs, and only allow those who were not involved to return to work after the truth of the incident is found out, and arrange for other children's agencies and social workers to help take care of the children during the period.
He also suggested that the government should arrange for more people to review the CCTV footage to find out the incident as soon as possible.
Tian Beichen urged the government to consider relevant suggestions, and to explain the incident to the public as soon as possible, explaining what short-term and long-term measures are in place.
