The winners of the architectural competition for the Fahrenzhausen town hall have now presented the planning status to the municipal council.

The winners of the architectural competition for the Fahrenzhausen town hall have now presented the planning status to the municipal council.

Fahrenzhausen

– After the referendum for the location of the new town hall in Fahrenzhausen, the big project became very quiet.

The silence in the municipal council on Monday evening ended with the presentation of the plans by Schätzler Architects, who were commissioned to finalize the plans in September.

The winners of the architectural competition can implement the winning design almost completely.

The two architects Walter Schätzler and Elitsa Bankova presented the status of the planning.

Schätzler stated "that we can implement everything in the same way as the competition".

This included the gratifying realization that the planned room programs make the necessary fire protection and escape routes possible.

The only significant change concerns the underground car park, which has to be built with a base plate due to the high groundwater level.

20 parking spaces will be created in the underground car park.

An expansion of the underground parking areas would not be economical.

In the two-storey main building, the departments open to the public are housed on the ground floor.

The mayor then gets his office on the first floor.

The new town hall will also have barrier-free access and thus modern accessibility.

The outbuilding has two large rooms on the ground floor with the meeting room and the wedding room.

For larger events, the two areas can be combined to form a hall with more than 200 square meters.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Above the two rooms, a meeting room for day-to-day administration will be realized on the top floor.

The municipality does not have any meeting rooms in the current town hall.

The municipal council's discussion focused primarily on the question of whether the administration would have enough space in the building in the long term.

Annemarie Guttner suggested constructing the extensive areas for archives in such a way that, in the course of digitization, they can be converted into offices for an administration that will grow in the medium term.

"That cannot be dismissed out of hand," said Mayor Heinrich Stadlbauer, picking up the point.

Regarding the expansion needs of the administration, he said that all offices are currently planned with one workspace, but can also be occupied by two people.

Evi Stocker looked with concern at the underground car park, which would have to be secured later in the evening.

She definitely doesn't want a permanently parked town hall square.

Stocker would have liked to see more than 20 of the approximately 100 parking spaces that would eventually be needed go underground.

She fears that the town center with its central square could lose its charm due to permanently parked cars.

City council approves plan

Ultimately, however, the municipal council approved the planning status, so that the preparations for the construction project can continue.

There should now be a visualization for the large glass front in the meeting room, and cost estimates should also be given for the next planning steps.
