A ski tourer died in an avalanche in the Berchtesgaden Alps.
There had been accidents on the route before.
Berchtesgaden – A 39-year-old ski tourer was buried by an avalanche in the Berchtesgaden Alps.
He could only be recovered dead, as the police announced on Tuesday (January 25).
His 54-year-old companion was not swept away by the avalanche.

The two men wanted to go together to the almost 2500 meter high Hocheisspitze.
According to the report, one of the two tourers released a slab of snow about 100 meters below the summit in the afternoon.
The 39-year-old was torn away several hundred meters by the masses of snow and buried more than a meter deep.
The 54-year-old immediately made an emergency call and began searching.
Almost 40 minutes later, the police and mountain rescue service were able to locate the victim in the snow cover, but help came too late.
The Bavarian avalanche warning service had issued a moderate avalanche danger for that day.
Berchtesgaden Alps: Already several accidents on a challenging ski tour
According to the police, the tour to the Hocheisspitze is a very demanding ski tour that requires absolutely safe avalanche conditions.
There have already been several serious avalanche accidents there.
