Current corona development in the district of Dachau: the number of new infections has doubled again

On Tuesday, the incidence in the Dachau district was 1,790.3 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - the highest incidence value in Bavaria.

In the week from January 17th to 23rd, 2518 new infections were reported to the health department - again the number of cases has doubled compared to the previous week.

- The incidences are particularly high in children and young adults.

In children from 6 to 11 years it is 3307, in the 16 to 19 year olds it is 1939. In the over 60 year olds the incidence is 472 (up to 79 years) and in the group of people over 80 it is 369.

According to the district office, it is currently not possible to differentiate the incidence according to vaccination status due to the high number of cases, as this has to be recorded manually.

However, the number of vaccinated index patients increases significantly with Omikron, but mostly with no or only minor symptoms.

It is also currently not possible to say how many people are symptomatic.

The number of cases identified as part of regular school and day-care center tests is also increasing.

161 students in 122 classes in 31 schools are currently affected - 14 classes in the district are in complete quarantine.

In the day-care centers, 91 groups in 73 facilities are affected.

(Private) test centers are open throughout the district or capacities have been increased.

With regard to the high incidence, especially in the age group of children and adolescents, the healthcare provider Dr.

Christian Günzel again in favor of the vaccination: "I can understand that parents are hesitant to vaccinate their children - but to dismiss Omikron as a mild variant is deceptive.

With the vaccination, the body gets to know the disease and is better able to cope with an infection.

Possible long-term consequences of the disease can be ruled out with the vaccination.” Vaccination appointments for children from five to eleven years are now offered by the vaccination teams of the BRK and the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe by appointment via 116 117 at the following times: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the vaccination center in Dachau;

Saturdays at the Gymnasium Markt Indersdorf.

The vaccination teams are also on the road throughout the district for vaccinations for children, young people and adults.

Citizens can receive first, second and third vaccinations there and also from the resident doctors or practices.

District Administrator Stefan Löwl continues to appeal to take advantage of the vaccination offers as early as possible.

In the coming weeks there are still numerous vaccination appointments - both in the vaccination centers and with the mobile vaccination teams and in the vaccinating doctor's offices.

The drive-in vaccination route in Karlsfeld is also exclusively available to the residents of the district at certain times in January.

In the past week, a good 4,000 vaccinations were carried out in the district;

and thus already 85,845 booster or third vaccinations.

The commitment of all stakeholders is also reflected in the still comparatively high third-party vaccination rate, which is currently 55 percent in the Dachau district.

For comparison, 48 percent of citizens in Bavaria and 50 percent in Germany are boosted.

But the first and second vaccinations are still in demand.

In the Dachau district, 115,483 citizens have now been vaccinated for the first time.

This means that the district of Dachau has a vaccination rate of 74 percent.

The child vaccinations that are now possible are also taken into account.

Second vaccinations are also increasing.

A total of 114,843 citizens in the district have already received the second dose of vaccination, but the so-called full protection is only given after two weeks.

The second vaccination rate also rose slightly and is currently 74 percent and thus still well above Bavaria (72) and just above Germany (73 percent).
