The president of Colombia, Iván Duque, announced this Monday that Euclides España, alias 'Jhonnier', considered one of the leaders of the FARC dissidents, was killed in the village of Tacueyó, in the department of Cauca.

This happened, according to the president, after a joint operation of the Armed Forces, National Police and the Prosecutor's Office.

Duque, who described Spain as "maximum leader of the FARC dissidents in the southwest of our country," said, via Twitter, that it is "responsible for the murder of social leaders, extortion and drug trafficking."

"This bandit who was in the structure of 'Gentil Duarte' and 'Iván Mordisco' represented one of the greatest threats or symbols of evil in our country," the president added.

Duque indicated that a reward equivalent to about US$760,000 was offered for alias 'Jhonnier'.
