Geretsried – Mayor Michael Müller recently presented Bavaria's Transport Minister Kerstin Schreyer with the B11 resolution.

Last week, Mayor Michael Müller presented Bavaria's Minister of Transport, Kerstin Schreyer, with an important document: the minister accepted the resolution on the relocation of the B11 from the Geretsried city council and briefly commented on the project.

Before the political squad lined up around the B11 project for the press photo on the street, "a very trusting conversation at all levels took place inside, behind closed doors," emphasized Michael Müller.

In the resolution that the mayor of Geretsried handed over to Transport Minister Kerstin Schreyer, the administration demands: "The transport project should be tackled immediately."

As reported, the relocation of the federal road to the Schwaigwaller Hang was included in the federal traffic route plan five years ago.

Even then, the project was considered particularly urgent.

An on-site meeting with the Minister of Transport has finally been organised.

Representatives from the ministry, the state building authority and the Geretsried town hall had previously discussed the B11 relocation and the S7 extension.

Work plane will work out details

"We have agreed that the city, which has a vital interest in relocating the B11, will revise its plans," said Müller.

The section from the roundabout to the feeder road will therefore be updated.

The state building authority in Weilheim also intends to revise the figures and get back into the project.

The working level - consisting of experts from the building authority and the Geretsrieder building authority - will "work out the details in the next few days and weeks".

"In such work processes, it is important that everyone sits at the same table and pulls together," said the Minister of Transport.

The traffic load is "really recognizable" on the B11, which is why Schreyer wants to "go into the coordination processes as quickly as possible" in order to solve the traffic problem.

The project has already been started and the aim is to continue it quickly.

Lengthy internal coordination processes

Schreyer explained why it took five years for the infrastructure measure to get going again with the lengthy internal coordination processes.

Müller also added: "It doesn't stop there, it will be continued."

The transport minister also assured: “Nothing is ever left behind in my house.

This danger does not exist.” The fact that the federal, state and district deputies were there was also an “important support at all levels”.

The city needs this.

After the conversation, Müller and Schreyer concluded that they were equally positive.

"It was clearly noticeable that we really all have the same interest," she said.

The mayor is also confident: "We are in a good exchange and on the right track."
