Hollywood tragedy: The son of actor Michael Madsen, the star of Quentin Tarantino's films, committed suicide by shooting himself in the head at just 26 years old.
"I can confirm that Hudson Lee Madsen died as a result of gunfire to his head in what appeared to be a suicide," said a spokesman for the Honolulu Pathological Institute in Honolulu, Hawaii, where Hudson lived.
Hudson was a soldier in the U.S. military and also served in Afghanistan. His father, Michael, has starred in dozens of successful films and collaborated with Trentino on a number of films, including "Guard Dogs" and "Kill Bill." Trentino is also Hudson's godfather.

Hudson Madsen left behind a woman, Carly, who shared with her followers on the network several months ago that she had undergone surgery to remove a breast tumor.
The two also revealed that they could not have children naturally and that they had started a series of fertility treatments.
"We are broken and engrossed in gloomy grief and pain over the loss of Hudson," the family said, "his memory and the light he spread will be remembered by all who knew and loved him."
