Mayor after killing spree: "Couldn't believe it at all"

Heidelberg's Lord Mayor Eckart Würzner expressed his condolences to the victims and their families after the killing spree in Heidelberg.

"Not only were we stunned, we actually couldn't believe that something like this was happening here in Heidelberg," said the non-party politician at a press conference in Mannheim on Monday evening.

Mannheim/Heidelberg – Würzner was relieved that the suspect could be identified quickly.

The man is said to have fired a gun in a lecture hall at Heidelberg University, injuring four people, some seriously.

A young woman died, the perpetrator is said to have shot himself.
