The French are (re)discovering the joys of motorcycles and scooters.
Last year, despite the shortage of semiconductors which hampered the availability of many machines, sales of motorized two-wheelers returned to a level close to the best years of 2000. With 194,589 registrations, the market jumped 9.3 % compared to 2020, driven by sustained demand for motorcycles (+12%).
The reasons for this enthusiasm are numerous and often overlap.
In the context of the coronavirus crisis, we can see a need for freedom, a desire to have fun and a certain apprehension to take public transport.
We can add to this the conversion of a growing number of motorists, exasperated by the hell represented by the reduction of traffic lanes and parking spaces.
