Kathrin Jansen, head of vaccine development at Pfizer, said: "While current research and real-world data show that vaccine boosters continue to provide high levels of protection against Omicron infection in vaccinated individuals who become seriously ill or require hospitalization, we recognize the need for a vaccine booster.
