A pregnant woman had an urgent need.

However, she was not allowed to enter the town hall in Geretsried because of the lack of two days for full vaccination protection.

Geretsried – It's a situation that every pregnant woman knows only too well: It doesn't matter whether it's right or not, you feel an urgent need.

That's what happened to Nina Winiarz.

In desperation, she wanted to use the public toilet in Geretsried town hall - and was turned away.

The reason: access to the town hall is only granted according to the 3G rule (fully vaccinated, recovered or tested negative).

At the decisive moment, the 30-year-old was missing two days until the complete vaccination status.

Because of vaccination status: Pregnant women want to go to the town hall toilet - and are rejected

Nina Winiarz, who lives in the south of the district, visited the town of Geretsried with her mother.

The paralegal is expecting her first child at the end of February/beginning of March.

"We wanted to buy the rest of the baby things together," says the 30-year-old in an interview with our newspaper.

Her path also led her to the C & A branch on Karl-Lederer-Platz.

"That's when I started to feel an urgent need." The expectant mother asked a clerk about the customer restroom.

There is no such thing in the shop, alternatively the employee of the clothing store pointed out “that there are public toilets in the town hall”.

There is currently no 2G rule in clothing stores.

Corona rules cause trouble: 3G also applies to toilet use

Winiarz quickly walked the few steps, but she was stopped behind the front door: "A security employee told me that the 3G rule applies in the town hall." The 30-year-old showed her vaccination certificates.

"I had received the second vaccination about two weeks earlier, there were exactly two days left before full protection would have been effective." No reason for the security service to turn a blind eye.

"She said no, she shouldn't let me in." Winiarz pointed out the urgency of her request - in vain.

"The woman recommended the toilet in the Edeka across the street.

I just thought, she can't be serious now.” The pregnant woman finally reached the toilet just in time.

Pregnant woman is upset: City hall employees refused her access

The 30-year-old, like her mother, is appalled and upset by the procedure.

"If I had come two days later, I would have been allowed to go to the toilet.

What would have happened if I had had a small child with me that had to go to the toilet quickly?

Should I have stayed outside and let it go to the town hall on my own?" Winiarz emphasizes that she can understand the corona infection protection measures.

But: “My father works in a municipal administration himself.

The 3G rule also applies there.

But in an emergency like this I would have been allowed to go to the toilet.”

Geretsried: City hall spokesman explains the incident – "Pregnancy was not evident"

When asked by our newspaper, Thomas Loibl, responsible for the press and public relations work of the city of Geretsried, emphasizes that access to the town hall, like all other authorities, is currently only permitted with an appointment and strict compliance with the 3G rule.

"Last but not least, this also serves to protect employees and maintain the city's infrastructure," says Loibl.

Nevertheless, he immediately investigated the incident.

"According to the statements of the colleagues, a pregnancy was not apparent." In such a case in particular there is a certain amount of discretion, the press officer explains.

And: "Normally, such situations are handled very sensitively."
