Today, President Bashar al-Assad issued a legislative decree granting a general amnesty for crimes of internal and external flight committed before 25-1-2022.
Below is the text of the legislative decree:
Legislative Decree No. 3
President of the Republic
According to the provisions of the Constitution
Draw the following:
Article 1 grants a general amnesty for crimes committed before 25-1-2022 according to the following:
A- For the full penalty for the perpetrators of the crimes of internal flight stipulated in Article No. 100 of the Military Penal Code promulgated by Legislative Decree No. 61 of 1950 and its amendments.
B - For the full penalty for the perpetrators of the crimes of external absconding stipulated in Article No. 101 of the Military Penal Code promulgated by Legislative Decree No. 61 of 1950 and its amendments.
C - The provisions of this article do not include absconded persons and fugitives from justice unless they surrender within three months for internal flight and four months for external flight.
Article 2 - This Legislative Decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall be effective from the date of its issuance.
