Presidential 2022: the collection of sponsorships will begin this Thursday

During a press conference, the President of the Constitutional Council detailed the presidential calendar, the campaign for which will officially begin on March 28.

This Tuesday, the President of the Constitutional Council, Laurent Fabius, clarified the technical details of the presidential election on April 10 and 24.

The campaign will officially begin on March 28, and the final and verified results will be announced by the institution on April 13 for the first round, April 27 for the second.

The deadline is fast approaching, and 75 days before the election, the Elders are keen to remind them of their role.

As Laurent Fabius indicated, the Constitutional Council will once again be the guarantor of “

the regularity of the election

”.

It will also examine any complaints and announce the final results.

Launch of the sponsorship quest on January 27

It will also be at the heart of this first imminent step: the quest for sponsorship.

Laurent Fabius has also confirmed that the race will be officially launched from the publication of the decree convening voters.

This text must be presented this Wednesday in the Council of Ministers, then published the next day.

Potential sponsors will therefore be able to send their file to the Council from this Thursday, January 27, until Friday, March 4 at 6 p.m., leaving a little more than five weeks for the candidates to harvest this precious sesame.

Like five years ago, the public list of sponsorships will be released as it becomes available.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, the Constitutional Council will publish an update of the verified signatures, accessible on the new website put online: presidentielle2022.conseil-constitutionnel.fr.

Aware that this system is regularly called into question – the publication of signatures can reinforce pressure on certain mayors – Laurent Fabius clarified that it was not up to him to express himself on any change in the rule.
