Russia's mission to the United Nations has warned of the consequences of casualties among the civilian population in the conflict zone in Donbass, as a result of the West's continued transfer of weapons to Ukraine under the pretext of the alleged Russian threat.
Russia Today quoted Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations Gennady Kuzmin as saying during a meeting of the Security Council on measures to protect civilians during hostilities in cities, “Western countries, against the background of the alleged Russian threat, which is being artificially fueled, continue to offer weapons to Ukraine and send military advisers to it. It generally encourages Ukrainian provocations instead of pushing them to implement the Minsk agreements ratified by the Security Council, which means that the victims in eastern Ukraine will continue to fall among children, the elderly and women, against whom the authorities in Kiev have been waging an undeclared war for several years.
Western countries, especially the United States, have in recent weeks intensified their supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine, at a time when the authorities in Kiev, the US administration and its allies claim insistently that Russia is amassing large forces, numbering more than 100,000, near the border with Ukraine.
