The Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences announced today that for the first time in history, Russian scientists want to send three vehicles to Venus in 2029, 2031 and 2034 to transport soil samples to Earth.
And Sputnik news agency quoted the head of the institute, Lev Zileoni, as saying that three missions are scheduled to be carried out within the framework of the Venus exploration program during the years 2029, 2031 and 2034, explaining that in 2029 the spacecraft “Venera D” with orbital, landing and demonstration units, in addition to atmospheric units, will head to Earth’s neighbor The second expedition is scheduled for 2031 and an urgent mission may be added in 2027 to search for signs of life on the planet.
The Venera D project aims to establish a long-term station on Venus to study the planet's surface and atmosphere.
