Saxony wants to adjust the rules and plans to relax them slightly

Saxony's government wants to relax the strict corona rules in the Free State again.

In the future, trade fairs and congresses should be possible again under the conditions of 2G (recovered or vaccinated) and a capacity limit, said Social Affairs Minister Petra Köpping (SPD) on Tuesday after the cabinet meeting.

Weddings and funerals are now allowed with up to 20 people and the requirement 3G (recovered, vaccinated or tested).

Dresden – 2G should apply to service providers such as travel agencies as well as to body-related services (cosmetics, foot care).

Providers of these services no longer have to close their shops when the congestion level is reached.

A regional hotspot regulation with stricter rules from a seven-day incidence of 1500 is no longer planned.

However, it should be reintroduced if necessary, as Köpping said.

At sporting events in the open air, the strict regulation remains for the time being, only allowing a maximum of 1000 spectators.

The minister urged caution despite a comparatively low incidence.

"We have to be careful because of Omicron." There is already an increase in bed occupancy on normal wards.

"We are sticking to the fact that we have a corona emergency regulation." After the cabinet discussed the key points on Tuesday, the new regulation should be decided after hearings next Tuesday and then apply from February 6th to March 6th.
