The omicron variant of the corona virus continues to heat up the infection process in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
On Tuesday, the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) reported 4107 new infections registered in one day - a new high.
The seven-day incidence exceeded the 900 mark and reached 905.8.
It was 824.4 the day before and 534.1 a week ago.
Rostock – Nationwide, the RKI gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants per week on Tuesday morning as 894.3.
In the hospitals in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the number of patients fell by 14 to 250 after an increase the day before. The situation in the intensive care units continued to ease.
According to the state office, 64 Covid patients are currently being treated in intensive care, 2 fewer than the day before and 14 fewer than a week ago.
The seven-day incidence of hospitalizations nevertheless rose slightly to 6.6 from 6.3 on Monday.
Eight people died in connection with a corona infection, bringing the total number of victims to 1,625 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Compared to the general population, the incidence in children and adolescents is significantly higher - with a very low number of hospital admissions.
According to the Lagus report for minors, the seven-day incidence in the age group from 0 to 17 years reached 2092 on Tuesday. Since the beginning of the year, 17 children and adolescents have been hospitalized for Covid-19.

According to the RKI, 73.3 percent of people in the north-east had received at least one vaccination against the corona virus by Tuesday.
There was no change compared to the previous day.
72.0 percent have complete basic protection after two injections, and 48.5 percent have a booster vaccination.
Slight increases compared to the previous day can be seen.
