Syria renewed its demand for the immediate lifting of the immoral and unilateral coercive economic measures that target the Venezuelan people and violate their human rights, including the right to life, health, food and development.
In a statement today during the Human Rights Council session devoted to reviewing the national report of the Republic of Venezuela on the situation of human rights within the framework of the periodic review mechanism, Syria’s permanent representative to the United Nations Office and International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Hossam El Din Ala, stressed the need to stop American interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs and respect its sovereignty and unity patriotism and the choices of its people.
Ambassador Alla commended the national report presented by Venezuela, represented by Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, and the efforts made to implement the recommendations of the previous review, stressing the importance of the policies adopted by the Venezuelan government in confronting the economic blockade and its strengthening social protection mechanisms to confront the economic war and by monitoring and documenting unilateral coercive measures that impede the enjoyment of human rights .
