(CNN Spanish) --
The president of Panama Laurentino Cortizo reported Monday night through his Twitter account that his wife, the first lady Yazmín Colon de Cortizo, tested positive for covid-19, and that for that reason he was going to proceed to save the corresponding isolation for these cases.
"Today I came out negative in the PCR and I have no symptoms. I will continue with my tasks from home. I reiterate the need to get vaccinated and not let my guard down," Cortizo wrote on the social network.
Hours earlier, the first lady Yazmín de Cortizo had informed the public through her Twitter account that after performing a PCR test, it was positive for covid-19.
