The New York police officer who was shot along with his partner on Friday while answering an emergency call for domestic violence in the New York neighborhood of Harlem died Tuesday as a result of his serious injuries.
The other officer, Jason Rivera, was killed in the shooting earlier that day.
"It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Police Officer Wilbert Mora," Sheriff Keechant Sewell wrote on Twitter.
Mora was 27 years old.
"Wilbert is three times a hero. For choosing a life of service. For sacrificing his life to protect others. For giving life even in death through organ donation," he added.
