The team of experts recommended allowing a fourth dose for people under the age of 60
The recommendation applies to those who have reached the age of 18 and have passed 5 months from the date of their recovery or from the date of receiving the third vaccine.
The Ministry of Health said in a statement that the decision was made in light of the positive results, which show 5 to 3 times protection against serious illness after the fourth dose was given.

The team of experts in the treatment of epidemics and the advisory committee to the Ministry of Health have recommended allowing a fourth dose under the age of 60 - the Ministry of Health updated this morning (Tuesday).
The recommendation applies to those who have reached the age of 18 and have passed five months from the date of their recovery or from the date of receipt of the third vaccine.
The Ministry of Health said in a statement that the decision was made in light of the positive results, which show 5 to 3 times more protection against serious illness after the fourth dose, and 2 times more protection against infection than those who are vaccinated with only a third dose.
The recommendations of the IDF and the committee are subject to the approval of the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Nachman Ash.

Three weeks ago, the ministry approved giving a fourth dose to people under the age of 60, initially only partially for vaccine-suppressed people.
Preliminary results from a study conducted at Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital were published last week, which showed that although vaccinators developed higher levels of antibodies after receiving the vaccine, their effectiveness against the micron strain is only partial.
The study involved about 270 hospital staff who received the fourth dose of corona vaccine and the results were compared to those of employees who did not receive a fourth dose at all.
From the data presented, it appears that in the vaccinated three doses of Pfizer who received a fourth modern vaccine, the rate of antibodies increased.
Two weeks after the administration of Pfizer's fourth dose, there was a further increase in antibodies, more than that measured about a week later.
