The prosecution said that the male defendant, Wang Zhenlin, was awaiting the results of the compulsory quarantine and was unable to appear in court for the time being. Therefore, his case was adjourned to Friday for retrial. If he had a positive test result, the case would be postponed again.
The female defendant, Zhao Baoqin, was not represented by a lawyer. After the director of interpretation read out the charges to her, she said in court that she failed to run for election that year and did not agree to be prosecuted for this.
