The general metal boss, Wolf, advocates the obligation to vaccinate.

In his opinion, however, the consequences for German industry could be devastating.

Berlin – “If vaccination is compulsory and you can’t continue working, we are threatened with total collapse”: Before the first debate on compulsory vaccination in the Bundestag, Stefan Wolf, head of all metals, warned against denying those who were not vaccinated against Corona* access to the companies.

Wolf also emphasized on "Bild TV" on Tuesday that it would be "very difficult for the industry if the ban on entry comes - as we already have in care." Many companies would then no longer be able to produce, supply chains would be interrupted: "The automotive industry is very divisive.

This includes many suppliers.

That would all come to a standstill.”

The chip crisis is bad enough.

"If there were additional interruptions due to compulsory vaccination, Germany would not produce a single car." Wolf estimated that there were 700,000 to 800,000 employees who were not vaccinated.

There are a total of 3.9 million employees in the metal and electrical industry in Germany*.

Gesamtmetall boss on corona vaccination: "Every company kneels on people"

Wolf personally is in favor of a Corona * vaccination.

“But I am against the exclusion of people from the company.” You have to increase the psychological pressure, and compulsory vaccination is suitable for this.

“Every company kneels the people who are not yet vaccinated.

We continue to appeal to everyone," Wolf said.

The facility-related vaccination requirement in the healthcare sector is scheduled to come into force on March 15.

There are fears that the layoffs of unvaccinated people could exacerbate the shortage of staff there.

Orientation debate in the Bundestag: Three models for compulsory vaccination

The Bundestag * discussed on Wednesday (January 26) for the first time about a possible corona vaccination.

It is a so-called orientation debate, in which the topic is discussed in general.

Concrete draft laws are not yet available.

There are three models being considered: compulsory vaccination for everyone over the age of 18, a requirement only for people over a certain age, around 50 or 60, and the rejection of compulsory vaccination.
