He was "deeply shaken and stunned," says Marek Bula.

The Erdweg pastor is now also commenting on the current abuse report.

Erdweg – In yesterday's issue of the Dachauer Nachrichten, many representatives of the Catholic Church commented on the new abuse report.

Pastor Marek Bula from the Erdweg parish association also wants to comment.

Here is his statement in full:

“Last weekend during the services I referred to what was happening in the Catholic Church.

I am deeply shocked and stunned after the abuse report was presented in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising.

I just can't find the words.

I can agree with the words of my dean, Pastor Peter Dietz, and my colleagues, Pastor Josef Mayer and Pastor Michael Bartmann, which I read in the newspaper.

All who have made mistakes should confess them and, for the sake of the Church, act accordingly.

The church is not only an institution, it is also and above all the people, all baptized Christians.

Many of them are involved in the parish community and are involved locally.

We are in a great crisis of the universal Church.

Pope and bishops have to react, reach out to people, listen, motivate them, speak in a language that people understand, and the Synodal Way could be a good chance for that.

The Church must take this opportunity seriously and must not squander it.

We are currently facing major structural changes in our church, partly because fewer full-time pastors are available.

But this also opens up new design possibilities for us, and we can courageously and creatively discover and develop new forms of church life together.

We have the opportunity to shape the church together in voluntary and full-time positions.

As a Catholic, I don't want to miss this opportunity to stay in and help shape my church, which Jesus founded and is in.

As a pastor, I can only ask the faithful: help shape our local church.
