The head of the Syrian Publishers Association, Haitham Hafez, said: The participation of Syrian publishing houses in the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair this year bears a distinctive and unique character with new titles.
In a statement to SANA's reporter in Cairo today, Hafez added: The Syrian Publishers Association participates in more than 70 publishing houses that carry with them everything that is new and enriching for the Egyptian and Arab reader, and bears titles in all scientific, cultural, political, historical, and religious fields.
Hafez pointed out that there are many seminars in which the Union will participate on the sidelines of the exhibition and within its activities, in addition to participating in seminars for the development of the Arab publishing industry, pointing to the presence of many Syrian writers with their publications that publishing houses took into account that new publications for the first time in the exhibition commensurate with its importance The vitality of the Syrian book.
He said: There is a remarkable Syrian participation in the children's pavilion filled with workshops dedicated to the child, and a wide participation in the convening of the General Assembly and the elections of the Arab Publishers Association, which will be held on the sidelines of the Cairo International Book Fair. The Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and the Minister of Culture, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, inaugurated today the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair under the slogan “Egypt’s Identity.. Culture and the Question of the Future” and its activities are scheduled to continue until February 7th.
The exhibition will be held on an area of 80,000 square meters with a total of 5 exhibition halls comprising 879 pavilions. The number of publishers and official bodies reaches 1063 publishing houses and agencies from 50 Arab and foreign countries, and the Arab participation reaches 298 Arab publishers.
