There have been several accidents involving injured children in the Miesbach district.

District – The police in Miesbach and Holzkirchen have dealt with two accidents involving injured children.

A five-year-old was fatally injured.

Update, 1 p.m.: Addendum from the police

As reported by the Miesbach Police Inspectorate, the girl has since died from her serious injuries.

On Wednesday (January 26), around 9 a.m., a serious accident occurred in Irschenberg.

"A 32-year-old woman from Irschenberger drove down Anzinger Strasse in her VW Beetle and wanted to drive in the direction of the district savings bank," reports the Miesbach Police Inspectorate.

"Another 32-year-old woman from Irschenberger drove a VW Sharan on Anzinger Strasse coming from the district savings bank and wanted to follow the course of the road to the left." The two vehicles collided head-on with one another.

Her five-year-old daughter was sitting in the passenger seat of the Beetle driver and was seriously or fatally injured in the collision.

The child had to be flown to a Munich hospital in a rescue helicopter.

In order to clarify the exact course of the accident, the public prosecutor's office commissioned an accident analysis report.

Both vehicles were seized and towed away.

There was a large contingent of rescue workers and the Irschenberg fire brigade and the Miesbach police station at the scene of the accident.

Accident with slightly injured child on B318

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday (January 25), there was also an accident involving an injured child on the B318, according to the Holzkirchen police station.

"Due to traffic jams, a 53-year-old driver from Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn had to brake to a standstill in his VW on the B318 between Lochham and Marschall," the police said.

"The following driver, a 38-year-old from Munich, overlooked this and drove up with his VW mobile home."

The Munich child was slightly injured in the collision.

The father himself was not injured, but was taken to the nearest hospital with the child by the ambulance service.

The 53-year-old from Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn was unharmed.

The total property damage is estimated at 25,000 euros.
