The cultural association of the Zugspitze parish association is planning a new play about the person of Adolph Kolping

Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Musical "Kolpings Traum" Garmisch-Partenkirchen- In times of Corona, it is the cultural workers who suffer the most from the conditions and restrictions.

So does the local cultural association of the parish association Zugspitze!

Many will remember the lavish musical productions such as "Joseph" or "Oliver", which delighted numerous spectators a few years ago in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Congress Center.

Already last year, the cultural association dealt with a new project.

"The project had to be postponed for known reasons," explains Elvira Kauschinger, the chairwoman of the association.

In November of this year it should work with another attempt, for five performance dates on 4th/5th/6th.

November, as well as on November 11th and 12th,

the Werdenfels ballroom was booked for this cultural highlight with numerous local forces.

And the focus of events will then be a very special personality, Adolph Kolping.

The musical "Kolpings Traum" by Dennis Martin and Christoph Jilo is set at the beginning of the 19th century at the beginning of the revolutionary change in Europe, the industrialization.

The life of the journeyman and later priest Kolping is impressively described as an important man of this epoch.

The German-language play shows what prompted the journeyman shoemaker to take care of the needs of the workers at the time and to found journeyman associations.

"The musical with its socio-critical background is therefore still very relevant today," Kauschinger is convinced.

Pastor Josef Konitzer assesses it similarly,

the head of the Zugspitze Parish Association and, together with his fellow campaigners, a key source of ideas for the cultural work of the local Catholic Church.

"The musical reflects the exciting panorama of its time and gives a new look at his life through the gripping songs and a captivating plot," emphasizes the clergyman.

"Of course we hope for a lot of support again, on the one hand from the former participants, but also from many new employees," says Kauschinger, who together with her two deputies Harry Ehrenberg and Markus Dobler, as well as Felicitas Lingg (secretary and treasurer), the leadership of the cultural association.
