The oil spilled in Peru moves to other areas 1:00
(CNN Spanish) --
Given the report of another oil spill, the Peruvian Environmental Assessment and Enforcement Agency (OEFA) reported this Wednesday that it began a supervision process at the multi-buoy terminal No. 2 of Repsol's La Pampilla refinery , located in the district of Ventanilla, province of Callao.
In a statement, they indicated that, according to the Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin), the spill would have occurred this Tuesday when work was being carried out prior to the removal of an underwater collection and distribution equipment that allows the passage of hydrocarbons for reception or dispatch.
They explained that this step is necessary to determine the cause of the spill that occurred on January 15 as a result of the strong waves that produced the submarine volcanic eruption near Tonga.

In this way, the OEFA reported that it began environmental supervision to verify responsibility, impact and the implementation of a contingency plan by the company.
Repsol has not yet made a statement.
Before the OEFA statement, the Spanish company had ruled out a new incident on its Twitter account.
On Tuesday, the National Maritime Authority through the General Directorate of Captaincies and Coast Guards had reported that it observed an oily stain in the vicinity of the multibuoy terminal No. 2 during one of the inspection flights to monitor the area affected by the spill in The Pampilla.
