She was thrown almost 20 meters before hitting a tree.
The shock, terrible, was fatal to this resident of Champs-sur-Marne, aged 51, who was crossing boulevard Newton on foot this Wednesday morning when she was hit by a motorist.
The man, also domiciled in Champs-sur-Marne, explained that he did not have time to brake.
The catch is that he turned out to be cocaine positive.
Driver taken into custody
The tragedy happened around 8 a.m.
The victim had just parked his vehicle and wanted to cross the road at 14 Newton Boulevard.
It was then that a Peugeot 208 driven by a 22-year-old young man appeared and hit her.
Immediately, the emergency services were alerted but the Samu doctor who went to the scene was unable to resuscitate her and her death was pronounced at 8:30 a.m.
The driver was taken to the police station to be taken into custody.
The results of the screenings carried out showed that if his blood alcohol level was negative, it was not the same for the detection of narcotics.
More precisely, the test revealed that he was positive for cocaine.
To the police officers of the Urban Security of the Noisiel agglomeration police station, in charge of the investigation, he first indicated that he was not driving fast and that he had not been able to stop.
A version which did not seem to convince the police, in particular because of the first observations made on the spot and the material elements at their disposal.
His custody was extended until Thursday.
