If the Dachau folk festival can take place again this year as usual, there will be Augustiner beer in the large marquee hosted by festival host Ewald Zechner instead of the previous Spaten festival beer. 

The culture committee approved the landlord's request for a change of brewery for the 2022 folk festival in a closed session on January 25.

The price of beer at the Dachauer Volksfest 2022 will be 8.60 euros per mug.

With the change of brewery, the link between the content of the Dachau folk festival and a particularly low beer price was abandoned.

Whether there will be a usual Dachau folk festival without restrictions this year due to Corona or whether a format like last year's "Summer on the Thoma-Wiese" will be necessary again is of course still completely in the stars.

The decision on this year's brewery change will also have no effect on the folk festivals from 2023 onwards.

For the years 2023/24, a new call for tenders for the large marquee is due in autumn.
