Cocaine routes: these illicit global flows that irrigate France

This note is the last in a series of four establishing the panorama of drug trafficking, production and consumption in France.

Present for a long time in France but until then confined to the middle of show business, cocaine has spread to large sections of the population.

If it remains less trivialized than cannabis, it is today the subject of mass consumption.

The changeover took place at the turn of the years 1990/2000, before experiencing a real acceleration in recent years.

One of the ways, admittedly imperfect, of evaluating the extent of a market for an illicit substance and its dynamics, is to base oneself on the quantified assessment of the seizures made.

Admittedly, these statistics primarily reflect the activity and performance of the law enforcement agencies concerned, but they also give us a rather valuable indication of the "market trend" and the development of demand.
