Engineer Ismail Ismail, director of water resources in Homs, revealed that the percentage of completion of the rehabilitation work of the distribution basin in Lake Qutina, which is implemented by the Directorate of Water Resources in Homs, exceeded 85 percent within a short period and the work is continuing at a good pace to complete the project and put it into service.
Ismail told SANA Economic Bulletin that the project is one of the qualitative and important projects at the governorate level and aims to rationalize water distribution and maintain the integrity of the Qatina Dam, the largest dam in the governorate, which irrigates an area of more than 22,000 hectares of the Homs and Hama plains.
Ismail indicated that the estimated cost of the project is 130 million, and the contract period for the project is two months.
It is noteworthy that the Qatina dam is the largest of Homs dams, with a maximum storage volume of 200 million cubic metres.
