The facts date back to Tuesday, January 18. After booking a trip via the BlaBlaCar carpooling app, a 22-year-old student gets into a vehicle in Toulouse to drive it to Clermont-Ferrand. But arrived at the level of the town of Vigeois (Corrèze), about 40 kilometers north of Brive, the driver suddenly left the A20 motorway and deviated from the planned path. After marking the stop, the driver would then have raped the young woman. Abandoned on the spot, the student managed to reach a nearby town. Having found refuge with a family, she called the emergency services.
The suspect, named Redouane, was arrested two days later, Thursday January 20, in Aiguillon (Lot-et-Garonne), near Agen.
The defendant has already been convicted for common law offenses (damage to property, theft, drug trafficking, traffic violations) but not for acts of a sexual nature.
The investigations are continuing under the authority of an investigating judge.
