A Turkish farmer lets his dairy cows wear virtual reality glasses.
So the animals believe they are on a pasture - and that works.
Istanbul/Moscow – The idea originally came from Russia: in the future, cows should produce more milk with the help of virtual reality glasses (VR) and digital images of lush green meadows.
And what works in Russia should now also work in Turkey – at least if Turkish farmer Izzet Kocak has his way.
He is currently testing the glasses on his own cows with initial success.

Cows give more milk thanks to VR glasses: increase by a quarter
The cows with the virtual reality glasses have already gone viral on social media such as Facebook.
Based on the science fiction classic "Matrix", some users have already written about Muhtrix.
In another nod to the film series, one user wrote: "You take the short grass, the story ends, you wake up in the pasture believing whatever you want to believe.
You take the long grass, you stay in Wonderland and I'll show you how deep the human structure goes."
And if you believe the dairy farmer from Turkey, then the whole thing works.
According to his own statements, since using the glasses, the amount of milk produced by the cows has increased from 22 to 27 liters per day – an increase of almost a quarter.
In any case, farmer Kocak in Turkey is so enthusiastic about the VR glasses for his cows that he has already decided to order ten more pairs in Russia.
VR glasses make cows believe they are standing in a pasture: animals are happier and more relaxed
The glasses simulate for the cows that they are standing on a lush green pasture.
Especially in cold winters, the cows can relax better and give more milk, it was said at the market launch from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture in Moscow.
In this way, “unprecedented results should be achieved”.

With VR glasses you can immerse yourself in virtual realities.
They are used for computer games as well as in other industries.
For example, police officers or firefighters use this technology to practice emergency and terrorist attacks.
VR glasses for cows are specially adapted to the shape of the head - there is also classical music
The glasses are specially adapted to the head shape of the cows.
The animals should be shown shades of red, green and blue so that they feel like they are on a lush green pasture.
The cows felt less fear and the herd was more peaceful overall.
In Bünte, Lower Saxony, they also focus on wellness for cows - the Brüning family even received an award for this.
According to the ministry, some Russian farms are already using classical music to stimulate milk production in cows – which farmer Kocak in Turkey also regularly does.
And there are even more strange things to report from the animal world: In Bolivia, a dog and a tomcat have become best friends.
The curious thing about the story: the dog only has three legs and the cat is in a wheelchair.
In the Ukraine, a cat mom got an unusual addition: she adopted four squirrel babies.
Together with their own kittens, family happiness will be perfect.
