The year 2022 will be that of the Royal Oak, designed fifty years ago by Gerald Genta for Audemars Piguet.
And it's only just begun... The Manufacture in Le Brassus has just unveiled a first wave of Anniversary editions.
Thus, the new edition of the Royal Oak Automatic 34 mm, 8.8 mm thick, is entirely dressed in black ceramic.

It also sports a black Grande Tapisserie guilloché dial contrasted by touches of pink gold, faithful to the new design just unveiled by the brand.
Now, the Audemars Piguet signature logo is applied in 24-carat gold obtained by galvanic growth, a process similar to 3D printing.
The letters are linked together by gold threads as fine as hair.
The full-length signature is then applied by hand to the dial and set on tiny feet, almost invisible to the naked eye.
It appears at 12 o'clock without the AP monogram.
