France recorded 501,635 new infections with the Corona virus during the past 24 hours, a new daily record, as the number exceeded the half million barrier for the first time since the outbreak of the epidemic.
According to the French Press Agency, about 364 people died of the virus during the past hours, bringing the total number of deaths due to Covid 19 in France to 129,489 cases.
The country currently records the highest daily infection rates compared to any major European country, with an average of more than 360,000 during the past week.
For its part, the Spanish health authorities announced the registration of the highest daily death rate since March 26 last year, as 382 new deaths were recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the total deaths due to infection with the Corona virus in Spain to 92,376 cases so far.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health indicated that 114,877 new infections had been recorded since yesterday, bringing the total number of coronavirus infections in Spain since the outbreak of the pandemic began to 9,395,767.
