Geretsried – The youth officer Felix Leipold (free voters) recently took stock.
In May 2020, he took over the office of youth officer from his parliamentary group colleague Heidi Dodenhöft and has since taken part in numerous meetings of the youth council and board meetings of the Association for Youth and Social Work (TVJA).
Now Felix Leipold took stock in the city council.
The young FW city councilor initially regretted that at the beginning of his term of office, many youth council meetings had to be canceled due to the pandemic.
"It was only in spring 2021 that we were able to hold our meetings again in compliance with the hygiene conditions," reported Leipold.
He found words of praise for the new city youth worker Julia Brandner.
"The cooperation is absolutely professional and on an equal footing," emphasized Leipold.
This made it possible to carry out actions such as participation in the so-called "Pride Week".
For example, he painted city sidewalks in rainbow colors together with youth councilors and city council colleague Peter Curtius (Green Party).
Voter turnout was around 10 percent
In addition, the youth council carried out a survey on public playgrounds and recently submitted a successful application to the city council to set up three picnic benches for young people in the city area.
Together with youth council spokeswoman Isabella Schrills, Leipold also banged the drum for the election of the new youth council in summer and autumn 2021, in which 14 candidates ran.
Voter turnout was around 10 percent.
"The youth council will endeavor to get involved more politically in this legislative period in the form of applications and statements," announced Leipold.
This is the only way to succeed in acquiring potential new youth council members this year.
"The long-term goal is for more people from the youth council to take the leap towards the city council - regardless of which group they belong to," says Leipold.
