They share a passion for jewelry: now the two young women Laura Stöckl and Sonia Bönisch have founded their own label.

Irschenhausen – What happens when two young women have not only been friends for years, but also share the same passion for jewelry?

In the case of Laura Stöckl and Sonia Bönisch, the answer was clear: they founded their own jewelry label "Aeleila Munich".

Striking but fine

The collection currently includes six parts: hoop earrings, bracelets, necklaces and wrist chains.

"All of them can be combined with each other and are suitable for every occasion," says Stöckl, placing a necklace with an almost solid-looking pendant next to a second, more delicately worked one.

Small plates, which are designed like miniatures of the large pendant, hang from this at equal intervals.

The work also reflects the taste of the designers to a certain extent: “Sonia tends to like very fine things, I tend to like things that are more eye-catching.”

The basis is recycled 925 silver

The two 25-year-olds had a lot of work to do before the precious jewels could be completed.

"We wanted to create a special surface structure, but also jewelry that can also be worn by men," recalls Stöckl.

It should be "of course timeless" and "not be pushed into any categories".

It took almost a year for the ideas to take shape.

"Then we started looking for a producer, which we finally found in Baden-Württemberg." Because cheap production abroad was out of the question for Aeleila.

"We wanted to be able to follow every step, from the prototype to the fully developed end product," emphasizes Stöckl.

“Above all, fair wages were important to us, as was sustainability.

The base of the jewelry is made of recycled 925 silver, which is then gold-plated.

The paper envelopes can also be returned to the cycle without any problems.

And how did the name "Aeleila" come about?

Stoeckl laughs.

“Leila means 'the most beautiful of all nights' – we thought that fitted.

And the AE in front is kind of a gimmick on our part.”

Jewelry is sold via the homepage

The young label now has its own website through which it sells the jewellery.

More pieces are in the planning stage.

"We're also thinking of rings, maybe in combination with gemstones." In addition, the two entrepreneurs are observing current trends on the market.

"It's all new territory for us," says Stöckl.

"We are still in the middle of the learning process."

Exhibition planned for spring

Originally, an exhibition was also planned, at Stöckl's mother Lia Schneider-Stöckl in the Hollerhaus in Irschenhausen.

"But as is the case in Corona times, we also had to postpone it until spring," said the 25-year-old.

But postponed is not canceled.”
