Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Majid Takht Ravanchi has criticized the systematic policies and practices that violate international human rights laws in the occupied Palestinian territories and Yemen.
Takht Ravanchi said in a speech during a meeting of the UN Security Council on the preservation of civilians in armed conflict, "The most serious violation of international humanitarian laws is the inhuman and racist systematic policies and practices carried out by the Israeli entity in the Palestinian territories, which include a wide range of brutal crimes such as deliberate killing The widespread and systematic approach to civilians, the control and destruction of homes, the confiscation of Palestinian land and property, and the imposition of a siege on the Gaza Strip.”
He referred to the crimes committed in Yemen by the Saudi-led coalition, indicating that the Security Council's responsibility is to ensure the preservation of civilians and to compel violators of international human rights laws to end such crimes and hold them accountable for their crimes.
