Frankfurt/Kaiserslautern – In the fight against people smugglers, the police launched a large-scale raid on Wednesday (01/26/2022).

On behalf of the public prosecutor's office in Kaiserslautern, officials from the main customs office in Saarbrücken are searching more than 60 objects.

The Federal Police Inspectorate for Combating Crime in Frankfurt is also involved in the campaign.

The focus of the raid is a 48-year-old German from the southern Palatinate.

He is the suspected head of a group of criminals who, with his recruitment agency, are said to have recruited over 300 nationals from non-EU countries with false European ID documents and smuggled them into Germany.
