Damascus-SANA
Today, most regions are witnessing the height of the depression, which began to affect the country, especially the coastal region, since yesterday evening and will continue until next Friday, according to Shadi Gawish, head of the forecasting center of the General Directorate of Meteorology.
In a statement to SANA, Gawish said that the southern region began to be affected by the depression, which will extend during the afternoon hours to include various regions, and it is expected that snowfall will occur at heights of 1200 meters, and at night at heights less than 1000 to 700 meters.
Gawish pointed out that the snowfall in the interior regions, including Damascus, is light and not cumulative, pointing out that the effectiveness of the depression gradually weakens on Thursday and Friday, as the chance of snow and rain precipitation becomes sporadic and weak in most areas, and the weather remains cold at the beginning of next week at night with the formation of frost and ice.
