According to the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, the Schwerin Ministry of Health understands the occupational vaccination requirement.

The ministry sees the fact that the district has declared that it cannot enforce this as a call for help, spokesman Alexander Kujat said on Wednesday.

""Can" is a cry for help - that's how we understood it."

Greifswald - A breach of the law, on the other hand, would have been the statement "We will not implement it".

That is not the case, as the district has made clear again.

District spokesman Achim Froitzheim said on Tuesday, with a view to corona-related burdens on the health department and parts of the administration, “we are therefore unable to monitor and enforce this facility-related vaccination requirement”.

On Wednesday, the district made it clear that vaccination would be mandatory.

They never announced that they "did not want to implement them", but only referred to problems with them.

With regard to the introduction of compulsory vaccinations for employees in nursing homes and hospitals, for example, according to Kujat, there are “many, many questions and a lot of resentment, which we can largely understand”.

Federal, state and local governments all have to make a contribution.

The other cities and districts in the north-east had also written to the state government in writing that the tasks related to the regulations "are definitely not feasible to the specified extent and at the scheduled time".

According to Kujat, the "principal anger" is based on the fact that "a massive task has been given by the federal government to the municipalities" without financial compensation.

Personally, it is a balancing act anyway.

“They are all overburdened, especially the health authorities, that is perfectly clear.

We can understand that well.” The federal government is called upon to clarify fundamental questions, such as how many vaccinations are necessary for classification as a vaccinated person.

The country is trying to help with other questions, for example with uniform forms.

There is a working group with the municipalities.

“The problems are huge.

And yet we are used to it in the Corona crisis that there is a lot going on. ”dpa
