In the end they are the ones who surprised him after he went into their bedroom and caught them in the middle of sex.

A plan by a Colorado soldier to surprise his parents during a vacation he received from the military failed in the most horrific way possible - after the poor man entered their room by surprise and caught them naked in the middle of a sexual act. The horrible moment was documented by his sister and posted online.
"We were surprised and embarrassed to death," the frightened mother, 39-year-old Kathy Pena, told Caters about the humiliating incident that occurred when their 20-year-old son Joseph appeared without prior notice at their home after two-and-a-half years of military service at a German base. "We had no idea our son was coming home, and he told his sister Josephine, the one she was photographing, that he wanted to surprise us," the mother of three said. Needless to say, it was not the exciting encounter the two expected.
Cathy described how she and her husband, 54-year-old Richard, "talked" - their code word for sex when the kids were little - when "the door suddenly opened."
In the video, which fortunately does not show the sexual act, you can see Joseph bursting into the bedroom excitedly and then starting to shout "oh no, no, no" as he grabs his parents in the middle of sex.
The soldier retreats to the hallway when his surprised mother bursts out laughing.
"I screamed because I saw my son and of course, I realized he saw everything," the mother explained.

Apparently, the scene caused the boy such severe trauma that he decided to spend the rest of his vacation with his girlfriend and sister.
Cathy explained: "He sent messages and called every day but avoided coming home, and we were fine with that because he had to enjoy his vacation and not feel scarred from what he saw."
Fortunately, Joseph's containing mother was able to alleviate his post-traumatic stress disorder - and shared the video online.
She explained that "the online responses were amazing," with most respondents angry at the son for "not knocking on the door" before entering the bedroom.
Still, this is the bedroom and not the living room.
However, Kathy seems to have no regrets and no intention of refraining from doing so again, even if her son is around.
"I'm sure he's trying his best to erase the visual memory of this incident, but life by our side will only remind him how Adam and Eve conceived the whole world," she added, "he will live with it."
